Donate an Artifact

Do you have items related to Winooski’s history that you would like to see preserved and used to educate your neighbors? Consider donating to the Winooski Historical Society or contacting us to discuss your historically significant artifact/s or memorabilia at winooskihistory@yahoo.com. You can also write to us at Winooski Historical Society, Champlain Mill, Suite 42, 20 Winooski Falls Way, Winooski, VT 05404.

More about Artifact Donation

  • Please know we cannot accept every artifact or memorabilia offered to us as we have limited space, similar item/s, and other considerations.

  • In your correspondence with us concerning the artifact or memorabilia, please provide us with the “story” behind the item, measurements of the object/document, and any other information that you think would be helpful to the WHS. Try to include a photograph of the item/s to help us learn about your proposed donation.

  • We will review your proposed donation and contact you regarding the possible next steps. We may ask for additional information about your donation.

If you have something really special but want to keep it, we can scan photographs, maps, and other documents to make their content available to researchers, being mindful of copyright requirements.

Thank you for your consideration!

Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with WHS! Whether you are curious to learn more about Winooski’s history, want to meet new people, or enjoy being in a historic building, the Winooski Historical Society is a fun and exciting opportunity to volunteer. Since we operate the Museum and Historical Society solely with the help of volunteers, we invite you to join our group of volunteers of all ages and backgrounds.

More about Volunteering

In the future, our group would like to expand our volunteer offerings, such as adding someone to greet visitors at the WHS Museum and community events or helping to manage our collections. However, there are already many volunteer opportunities ranging from yearly to seasonal to monthly or weekly help.

Email us to let us know which volunteer opportunities interest you or whether you have any special skills that you could bring to the Winooski Historical Society. You can reach us at WinooskiHistory@yahoo.com.

Volunteer Opportunities
